This includes: eating and meal support, dressing, bathing/showering, hygiene and grooming, toileting, mobility/transfers, continence care when needed. 3. Support residents’ sensory, communication and personal needs, by encouraging and assisting use of personal aids (glasses, hearing aids, mobility aids like canes or walkers, call bells, etc.). 4.Provide oral and dental care (basic mouth care, denture care, etc.) as part of personal care services. 5. Provide emotional, social, cognitive and spiritual support — companionship, conversation, encouragement of participation in social or leisure activities, facilitating connection, supporting dignity and individuality. 6. Assist with resident mobility and transfers, including helping residents move within the home, to dining or activity areas, assisting with resident “move-ins/outs” or transfers between rooms/units as required. 7. Attend to resident comfort and safety, ensuring safe environment, preventing falls, using proper techniques for transfers, observing for changes in condition, ensuring assistive devices are accessible. 8. The Ladders Monitor, document and report: observe residents’ vital signs, behaviour, weight changes, mobility, safety issues, involvement in activities, and report any changes or concerns to the nursing or supervisory staff. 9. Support resident laundry and housekeeping tasks as part of personal care: collecting and washing laundry, sorting and storing clean laundry, tidying resident rooms or living areas as needed. 10. Assist with meals and nutrition support: helping residents at mealtime, feeding if necessary, assisting with snacks or dietary needs per care plan (though food-service staff often handle broader meal prep). 11. Facilitate participation in activities and social programming: escorting residents to dining, social activities, appointments, recreational programs; supporting engagement in group or individual activities as appropriate. 12. When appropriately trained (and per facility policy), may assist with simple treatments or medication support, under supervision of a registered nurse or other authorized staff. 13. Work collaboratively with the care team — nursing, recreation, dietary, family members — to ensure a holistic approach to resident care, respecting each resident’s individuality, dignity, preferences and rights. 14.
